Lintech Components has successfully completed the necessary requirements to become an AS6081 compliant distributor. This requirement will be the new standard for electronic component distributors to detect counterfeit components and develop as well as implement a counterfeit electronic parts control plan that documents its processes used for risk mitigation, disposition and reporting of counterfeit parts. The AS6081 standard requires practices and methods to mitigate the risk of purchasing and supplying fraudulent, suspect counterfeit electronic parts. The intent of AS6081 is to describe a program to establish and maintain certified distributors of electronic components whose regular use of anti-counterfeit process controls and requirements, in their purchasing and supply operations. This is designed to ensure delivery of authentic products meeting original component manufacture specifications.
While counterfeit electronic components pose a major challenge to the electronics industry, standards such as the SAE AS6081 help to make dependable practices an industry standard.
